When I conceptualized this card in my head, I must admit I thought the end product was "meh." I think I even said "it looked better in my head, LOL" on my instagram post. So imagine my surprise when I was spotlighted on MFT's cardchallenges.com blog for this same "meh" card. Talk about perception vs. reception. Perhaps we are generally a little too critical of ourselves, and in this case, too critical of our designs. In any case, my designs are extremely easy to do because I do not have blocks of time to work on my cards. I stamped MFT's wavy coloring book background stamp in versafine ink. Then I used a heart shaped MFT die to cut out a section of the stamped background which I then colored with Kuratake Zig clean color real brush markers and used a water brush to spread the colors around. I added a red label at the bottom with an embossed thank you sentiment. In my experience, you can never have too many thank you cards. However, with
This My Favorite Things BG Wavy Coloring Book stamp is quite possibly the most relaxing bit of coloring you can do. You can go super colorful and detailed or choose a color scheme with just a few colors to tone down the overall color palette. In either case, you have to focus your energy on the little details which makes it a meditation activity of choice. I decided to channel my inner B-52s and unleashed a flurry of colors. After lots of focused coloring energy with Prisma colors, some vellum, and a thanks die cut by Lawn Fawn, a thank you card was born.
